With over 10 years of experience Dr. Mersedeh Cartwright, Ed.D, LPC helps adolescents, adults, couples, and families. About Dr. Mersedeh Cartwright, Ed.D, LPC

Dr. Mersedeh Cartwright uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy, mindfulness among other evidence based approaches to help individuals discover new ways to cope with life challenges and move toward a more satisfying life. She believes it is not the situation or challenge that life presents but the way it is perceived and handled that determines the impact it has on a person's life; therefore, she enjoys helping individuals gain insight into their awareness on how they perceive and handle life issues. 

Dr. Cartwright received her doctorate of Education in Counseling Psychology and her Master's in Professional Counseling from Argosy University in Arlington, VA. She completed her internship at Loudoun County Community Services Board (CSB) in the Emergency Services (ES) Department conducting crisis assessments and management for individuals needing immediate assistance.

Dr. Cartwright is licensed in Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia, and Georgia. She currently works in private practice providing in person and telehealth sessions and accepts most insurances. She serves as a consultant to many EAP companies. She is bilingual and speaks Farsi. Dr. Cartwright has broadened her counseling skills by working in various settings such as Accotink Academy, Prince William County Child Protective Services, Prince William County and Loudoun County CSB ES, United Health Group, General Dynamics Information and Technology (GDIT).
